Minister for Education Dan Tehan has thanked Anthony McClaran for his contribution to education in Australia.
"Anthony McClaran worked as chief executive officer of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) for four-and-a-half years," Mr Tehan said.
"I would like to thank Anthony for leading TEQSA in its work protecting and enhancing the quality of Australian higher education, and for supporting the work of the Commission in its regulatory decision-making.
"Anthony served at a pivotal time and established TEQSA as one of the most highly-regarded regulators in higher education globally.
"His hard work has ensured that Australia remains a world leader in the provision of higher education and that our students receive the highest quality education.
"I wish Anthony all the best in his new role as Vice-Chancellor of St Mary’s University Twickenham London."
