- Minister for Education
Minister for Education Dan Tehan has paid tribute to Denise Bradley AC, who passed away today.
"Denise Bradley AC provided distinguished service to higher education in Australia," Mr Tehan said.
"Over the course of a long and productive career, Professor Bradley made significant contributions to education through her policy and administration work.
"In 2008, she chaired the National Review of Higher Education, which became known as the Bradley Report.
"Professor Bradley was a passionate advocate for increasing the number of people from low socio-economic backgrounds who went to university. And her legacy is evident through increased participation rates.
"Professor Bradley has been recognised extensively for her contribution to Australia’s tertiary sector. She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1995; awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003; named South Australian of the Year in 2005; made a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2008; and was conferred the prestigious College Medal by the Australian College of Educators in 2011.
"Today, we pay our respects to Professor Bradley and say thank-you for her contribution to our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time."
